The Delta Chamber of Commerce is a federally registered, non-profit corporation of businesses and community organizations. It was originally established as the Delta Board of Trade on March 26, 1910, and in 1961, changed its name to the Delta Chamber of Commerce. The chamber is governed by the Board of Trade Act administered by Industry Canada. It serves as the only Chamber of Commerce in the Municipality of Delta, British Columbia, Canada, to create and maintain a prosperous environment for business, industry, and commerce in our community, province, and country. Our Vision Strengthening commerce and industry because Delta matters. Our Mission To promote growth and prosperity; provide networking opportunities for chamber members to generate mutual benefits; and advocate for the interests of the Delta business community with all levels of government. Our Role Acting on behalf of the members to influence economic, social, and government challenges and issues in support of economic prosperity and the sustainability of all Delta communities. Policy, Purpose, and Positions - Promote, support, and strengthen the free enterprise system and democratic principles. - Provide member-driven services and develop programs aimed at creating community awareness and provincial and federal economic development. - Monitor legislation at the municipal government levels and prepare timely responses to legislation proposals, and provide recommendations. - Take a leadership role on behalf of members and the business community by initiating, coordinating, and/or developing programs and policies to present to appropriate levels of government.
