Description

Are you passionate about transforming how Amazon's leaders make strategic talent decisions? The Workforce Planning (WFP) team within Amazon's Senior Leadership Experience (SLX) organization is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to drive delivery of an enterprise-wide workforce planning platform — built from the ground up to replace offline, spreadsheet-based planning with integrated, AI-powered experiences.

You'll be driving new capabilities that transform how senior leaders align talent investments with business needs — leveraging machine learning, agentic AI, and Finance system integration to surface data-driven workforce decisions at Amazon scale. Our platform is launching across Amazon's major business units and will be the system of record for OP1 2027 workforce planning. You'll work in a high-visibility, high-ambiguity environment with direct exposure to senior leadership, driving programs that sit at the intersection of enterprise software, organizational science, and AI.

Key job responsibilities

As a Sr. TPM on WFP, you will own program delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams spanning product, engineering, science, and finance systems integration. You will:

Drive end-to-end delivery of WFP platform capabilities including Segmentation, Plan Mapping, Plan Builder, Permissions, Insights/Recommendations/Alerts, and Science models — managing cross-functional dependencies across engineering pods, science teams, upstream data owners, and downstream partners
Lead launch readiness programs including E2E coordination, Go/No-Go gates, ORR/ASR completion, and Game Day execution
Track and surface risks across multi-team dependency maps; maintain visibility into critical path across backend (AppSync, BFF, Lambda/ECS, DDB), science (Action Solver, CC distribution), and frontend workstreams
Own program communications to senior leadership — writing crisp daily/weekly flash,bi-weekly status updates, MBR updates, surfacing tradeoffs with specificity, and driving decisions rather than deferring them
Coordinate with upstream data dependencies (Finance/GFT, BIS/SBC forecasts, HRBP data via Maple) and downstream consumers to manage data availability risks and scope implications
Partner with Product and Science to scope quarterly roadmap items, work with SDMs and SDEs to estimate work and build execution plans grounded in honest LOE estimates
Manage team sustainability as a first-class program risk alongside technical and schedule risks
