JOB OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to provide Job Center services and programs to job seekers and businesses. The position will also coordinate job training programs and other recruitment services with employers. The work is performed under the direction of the Assistant Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Documents all service activities according to governmental guidelines and maintain employer accounts with extensive case notes in the labor exchange system.
  • Proactively develop relationships with employers of all sizes to identify industry trends and challenges, related to needed skill sets and proactive layoff aversion.
  • Direct potential employers and job seekers to the appropriate resources within the workforce system.
  • Assist employers and job seekers by providing workforce services that include but are not limited to: On-the-Job Training, Work Experience, Incumbent Worker Training, and Registered Apprenticeships.
  • Participate in the creation, implementation and facilitation of career workshops that involve employer participation.
  • Provides continual and consistent support and follow-up to job seekers and businesses.
  • Maintain confidentiality standards.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Assists in the resource room and/or in triage services.
  • Assists in the operations of job fairs and other Center sponsored events.
  • Represent the County and Job Center at local, regional and state meetings and events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resource Management, Social Work, Counseling or related field.
  • Job Experience
    • One to three years of counseling experience.
